Janet Jackson rend hommage à Michael Jackson
by SouthParkNews
It looks like the 15 hour days she put in rehearsals paid off! Janet rocked the stage with her performance of Scream, during which she synched dance moves with a giant image of Michael Jackson projected behind her.
Other performances on the night included Pink who performed her hit Sober while suspended in mid air.
Pink managed to transformed herself into a trapeze artist and was hoisted high up above the crowd. She managed to swing round, perform flips and all whilst singing live!
It was quite a performance and just for the effort and risk factor, I think it was one of the best of the night.
Lady Gaga also tried to get ‘creative’ as she performed Paparazzi . It all started off in the usual Gaga style, as she and her dancers writhed to the beat. I particularly liked the way she gave the track a little twist by changing some of the arrangement.
She then played a few chords on the piano turned back to the crowd seemingly drenched in blood!

She spent the rest of the performance wailing through the song and eventually staggered back to her dancers for the final scene, this involved her hanging with a crazed look in her eyes…Wow!
Jay Z and Alicia Keys closed the show with his new single Empire State of Mind. Jay did sound a little hoarse, although he can be forgiven for that as his 911 tribute concert took place just two nights earlier.
Alicia’s voice was sounding great as it boomed over the piano chords while Jay handled the verses with his usual swagger. However as the song came to an end, Jay and Alicia had to deal with a little stage invasion of their own, this time from little known rapper/dance show judge Lil Mama (Google her).
Lil Mama ran up on to the stage and stood with Jay and Alicia like she was a part of the act.

Jay Z tried to discretely usher her away but she ignore him and remained on the stage with them!
What was she thinking?
Lil Mamma later apologised for her actions blaming it on a moment of ‘high emotions’.
She released a statement saying "Empire State of Mind had my emotions running high"
Hmm.. surely there were plenty of other 'well known' artists who were feeling the track but they did not feel the need to actually join in the performance.
I think this may have been another case of blame it on the Henny…
So after a night of security breaches and apologies, I guess MTV have a few things to note for next year;
1. Hire extra security
2. Keep Kanye away from the Hennessy
3. Restrict backstage access for unknown emotional young women
Did you watch the show? What did you think?
Hey Heather!! Loving the blog..keep it up!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome ending to the show, and yeah I was a bit confused about Lil Mamma coming up, at least she didn;t grab the mic!!
