Mariah Carey - New music
Listen to it here:
I really like this track; it reminds me of the old school Mariah and also sounds like it could fit quite comfortably in to her album Butterfly released in 1997.
This has renewed my hope that her forthcoming album will feature more of the dulcet Mariah tones that have been missing from some of her most recent material...
The album is due out next Tuesday September 29th
What do you think of the track?
Are you looking forward to hearing the new album?
Has Mariah still got it?

This synth themed track is sure to be a big hit!

Sugarbabes Keisha out Jade in
Read the statement here:
Dear Friends I'm sad to say that I am no longer apart of the Sugababes.
Although it was not my choice to leave, it's time to enter a new chapter in my life
I have nothing but positive things to say about the girls and I wish them the best of luck.
The official Sugababes website also confirmed this via the below statement and announced that Jade Ewen would be her replacement:
Monday 21st September
The current line-up of the Sugababes has disbanded.Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah will continue as the Sugababes and will be joined by new member Jade Ewen. They release their album ‘Sweet 7’ on November 23rd through Island Records.Keisha Buchanan will continue to record for Island Records as a solo artist.
Wow! What a revelation, by the sound of Keisha’s tweets, it seems that she was pushed out of the group. Rumor has it that this decision was made by the band’s management rather than their label.
Apart from Mutya, Keisha had one of the best voices in the group’s line up so far and I hope she is able to make it as a solo artist. What is more of a surprise is Jade Ewen ditching her solo career to join the group. It will be interesting to see how the group continues without Keisha and how this move will go down with their fans.
How do you think this new line up will work?
Can Keisha make it as a solo artists?
Was it a good move for Jade?

Alexandra Burke video premier Bad Boys
X Factor winner Alexandra Burke has released her first video to forthcoming single Bad Boys featuring Florida.
Check it out here;
I wasn’t sure whether I liked this track on first listen but it has started to grow on me. The chorus is really catchy which is good and I think it has the potential to quite well in the pop charts.
As for Florida’s cameo, I don’t know whether it’s really needed, it seems that they have just added him in to the track just for the sake of saying she has collaborated with a rapper..
This single is out on Monday October 12th and her debut album titled Overcome is due out Monday October 19th.
What do you think of the track?

Q-Tip - New Music
Even If It Is So is the first single from the album, check it out here;
This track does not have the frills of modern day production, however it’s simplicity is what makes it great.
The album is full of similarly laid back jazz influenced tunes that will have you wishing you were sat in the sun on a hot summers day watching the world go by.
Kamaal The Abstract is out now!

Video Muisic Awards Part II
Watch it here:
Janet Jackson rend hommage à Michael Jackson
by SouthParkNews
It looks like the 15 hour days she put in rehearsals paid off! Janet rocked the stage with her performance of Scream, during which she synched dance moves with a giant image of Michael Jackson projected behind her.
Other performances on the night included Pink who performed her hit Sober while suspended in mid air.
Pink managed to transformed herself into a trapeze artist and was hoisted high up above the crowd. She managed to swing round, perform flips and all whilst singing live!
It was quite a performance and just for the effort and risk factor, I think it was one of the best of the night.
Lady Gaga also tried to get ‘creative’ as she performed Paparazzi . It all started off in the usual Gaga style, as she and her dancers writhed to the beat. I particularly liked the way she gave the track a little twist by changing some of the arrangement.
She then played a few chords on the piano turned back to the crowd seemingly drenched in blood!
Watch her performance here;
Lady Gaga VMA 2009 from Vincent Kong on Vimeo.
She spent the rest of the performance wailing through the song and eventually staggered back to her dancers for the final scene, this involved her hanging with a crazed look in her eyes…Wow!
Jay Z and Alicia Keys closed the show with his new single Empire State of Mind. Jay did sound a little hoarse, although he can be forgiven for that as his 911 tribute concert took place just two nights earlier.
Alicia’s voice was sounding great as it boomed over the piano chords while Jay handled the verses with his usual swagger. However as the song came to an end, Jay and Alicia had to deal with a little stage invasion of their own, this time from little known rapper/dance show judge Lil Mama (Google her).
Lil Mama ran up on to the stage and stood with Jay and Alicia like she was a part of the act.
Watch her in action here;

by obszine
Jay Z tried to discretely usher her away but she ignore him and remained on the stage with them!
What was she thinking?
Lil Mamma later apologised for her actions blaming it on a moment of ‘high emotions’.
She released a statement saying "Empire State of Mind had my emotions running high"
Hmm.. surely there were plenty of other 'well known' artists who were feeling the track but they did not feel the need to actually join in the performance.
I think this may have been another case of blame it on the Henny…
So after a night of security breaches and apologies, I guess MTV have a few things to note for next year;
1. Hire extra security
2. Keep Kanye away from the Hennessy
3. Restrict backstage access for unknown emotional young women
Did you watch the show? What did you think?
Kanye at the Video Music Awards
The Kanye West episode has dominated the news, blogs and radios stations all day today and if you still haven’t heard about it you must be living under a rock!
Here is a quick summary of what happened; Taylor Swift was announced as the winner of Best Female Video (to be fair most people were expecting the award to go to Beyonce). Taylor headed to the stage and started her acceptance speech and all was well until Kaye West stormed the stage.
Watch the incident in full here;
It is well known that Kanye is opinionated, judging by his past behaviour at the European Music Awards back in 2006.
However in this instance he went just that little bit too far. Regardless of what he thought about the results, storming on stage to announce who he thought was the more worthy winner was not right thing to do. This move just succeeded in making him look more arrogant than ever.
Shortly afterwards Kanye and his entourage were escorted out of the award ceremony.
West did later apologised via his Twitter page:
"I'm so sorry to Taylor Swift and her fans and her mom. I spoke to her mother right after and she said the same thing my mother would've said. She is very talented! I like the lyrics about being a cheerleader and she's in the bleachers! I'm in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment"
There is however another theory about Kanye’s behaviour, he was pictured earlier in the evening with side piece Amber Rose and a half empty bottle of Hennessy...
Beyonce who did look shocked during Kanye’s outburst later ended up winning the most prestigious award of the night; Video of Year. During her acceptance speech she graciously called Taylor back up on stage to have her moment again.
Watch it here;
Beyonce wins Video lets Taylor S gives her acceptance speech
by crispy-star
Even this moment has caused tongues to start wagging with many saying that Swift should have publicly thanked Beyonce for bringing her back up on stage.
Another argument is that MTV should have given Taylor Swift another opportunity to accept her award later in the show? If Beyonce had not called her up, would she have missed out completely?
What do you think of Kanye’s behaviour?
Was Kanye drunk?
Did Taylor deserve to win the award?
Should MTV have taken more control?
The debates over this could go on for days!

Whitney is definitely back!
She looks stunning in this video, from the flawless make up to the dramatic floor length white gown.
The video has a very simple concept but makes Houston look almost angel like as the halo of white light envelops over her.

Oprah Whitney interview update
Winfrey has described it as one of the best and most powerful interviews she has ever done, adding “whether you liked or loved Whitney Houston before you will certainly have a deeper appreciation for what she has been through as a human being. And I mean, the fans are just going to love her even more”
Watch a snippet of the interview here where Whitney described the moment that her mother came to her home with an intervention order to save her from her drug ordeal;

Christina Milian and The Dream married and expecting!
It was a cheap and cheerful affair with Milian’s hired wedding outfit costing a grand total of $200.
It has since been confirmed that the couple are expecting a baby; however a source close to them told US Weekly that “The pregnancy was a surprise, but they were getting married regardless”.
This will be the second time down the aisle for The Dream real name Terius Youngdell Nash, he was previously married to singer Nivea for three years until the couple split in 2007.
The White Wedding Chapel is the same place Britney Spears married school friend Jason Alexander back in 2004. Although the odds are looking good for Mialian and The Dream, they have already lasted longer than Britney’s 55 hours!

Chris Brown on Larry King Live!
Watch the full interview here.;
Part 1
Chris refused to talk about the night and did not reveal any details about what happened. He also does not answer the question about why he was violent and his layer is close by his side ready to step in.
Part 2
Chris looks visibly disturbed and uncomfortable when told about punching, beating and biting Rhianna. again his lawyer steps in and defends Chris's decision not to talk about the details of the incident.
Part 3
Larry brings to light previous reports of domestic abuse incidents which Chris denies ever happened as reported in the probation report. I'm not sure that i believe him here... Brown's lawyer steps in quickly and tried to dismiss away the reports and generally seems to be making light of the incident
Part 4
Brown talks about being pictured on a jet ski at Diddy's house seeming to be relaxing with Rihanna having a good time.
Part 5
Brown confirms that he was at the Michael Jackson memorial service but managed to evade the media, which is probably best as it would have marred the ceremony.
Overall I think the lawyer made it seem like it 'the incident' was not as serious as it was and was constantly played things down when Larry was trying to get to the details we all wanted to hear.
Lastly, the bow time, perhaps it was an attempt to make himself look more like a gentleman?
What do you think of the interview?

Breaking news! 50 Cent and Ciara... Engaged!?
Congrats!..
Jay Z album leaked
MTV caught up with Jay Z to discuss his thoughts on the album being leaked nearly two weeks early, however Jay seemed to have taken it all in his stride and described it as a "great thing".
Watch the video here; (after the 20 second U2 promo...)
So far my favorite tracks have been Thank You, Empire State of Mind and Haters.. However I'm not too sure about Venus vs. Mars..
Blueprint III will be out 'officially' on September 11th!
Have you heard the album? What are your favorite tracks?
